Case Study: Family Law - Securing a Safe Future
SB Lawyers recently represented a mother of two young children who had been subjected to years of abuse and intimidation by their father.
Our client faced a constant threat to her safety and the well-being of her children, requiring decisive legal action to ensure their protection.
The challenge
The client had endured years of domestic abuse and threatening behaviour from her former partner, creating a living environment filled with fear and anxiety. This ongoing abuse significantly impacted the children's emotional and psychological well-being.
Our approach as family law solicitors
SB Lawyers gathered evidence of the abuse, meticulously documenting the impact on our client and her children. We presented a compelling case to the court, highlighting the severity of the situation and the urgent need for protective measures.
The outcome and impact
The court recognised the seriousness of the situation and issued a Non-Molestation Order, effectively prohibiting the father from contacting or approaching our client or her children.
Furthermore, the court limited contact to indirect forms, such as periodic cards or letters, while also placing a three-year bar on the father from making further applications to the court.
This outcome provided our client and her children with much-needed relief and security. The Non-Molestation Order and the restrictions on the father's contact significantly reduced the ongoing threat and allowed the family to begin the process of healing and rebuilding their lives.
At SB Lawyers, we are committed to protecting families from domestic abuse and ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients.
